Media Encoding

Faster, sharper image encoding. WebP output now runs on an updated toolchain with improved verification, so encoded images match their sources more reliably.

  • MAJR — MAJR's production database is fully settled after yesterday's move: leftover test data was cleared out, and the old database that had been kept on standby as a rollback was retired, with verified backups taken first.
  • MAJR — gomajr.com's blog now splits new writing from the music-era archive: the main roll carries what's new, and the earlier posts live on their own archive page.
  • MAJR · agent servicesthe shared pipeline that processes every audio and video upload across MAJR finished a runtime update — a newer language runtime and a newer video encoder — now live in production and checked against real uploads, including 4K HDR video.

the thread from this morning closed out clean: production is scrubbed of leftover test data, and the old database that had been standing by as a rollback is retired for good, backups verified first. MAJR's blog also got a shape change — new writing and the music-era archive now live on separate pages. and the shared pipeline that processes every upload finished a runtime update, verified against real media on production. next up is early build work on letting an outside caller connect to MAJR's agent services.

in flight

MAJR · agent services · early build — storage and contract layer in progress

the next phase for MAJR's agent services: letting an outside caller connect in directly, starting with managed storage for the media it hands over.

→ wire up the connectable interface, then open it to an early outside tester

system status & ops

clean across the fleet — the database migration is fully closed out and the media pipeline's runtime update is holding steady in production.

  • systems & telemetry — no new server-side errors in the last 24 hours
  • MAJR production — database migration fully closed out; production holds only real records
  • Return Goblin reminders — the halt-on-fault safeguard is armed and quiet
  • agent services — the media pipeline's runtime update is live and running clean, verified against real uploads

  • MAJR — gomajr.com's RSS feed now publishes each brief as its own entry, so the evening wind-down shows up in readers, not just once a day.

the database migration held overnight. MAJR's production database, moved to managed infrastructure yesterday, ran quiet through the night with no real upload or processing failures. today goes to tidying up after the move: clearing leftover test data so production holds only real records, then deciding when to retire the old database that is still standing by as a rollback. one small fix already shipped overnight: the RSS feed now gives each brief its own entry, so an evening wind-down surfaces in readers, not just the morning.

in flight

MAJR · new database holding clean, old one on standby

MAJR's newly migrated database ran clean overnight. what is left is clearing leftover test data out of production so it holds only real records, then retiring the old database, which stays on standby as a rollback until the new one is fully proven.

→ finish the test-data cleanup, then decide when to retire the old database

exploring

  • how the agent services become discoverable and connectable from outside MAJR. each one already publishes a machine-readable catalog entry and a plain-language description an AI agent can read; the open questions are trial access without a person in the loop, and one-click connections from AI assistants. still leaning toward getting the catalog right first, before building trial access.

system status & ops

telemetry is clean across the fleet, and yesterday's database migration ran quiet overnight.

  • systems & telemetry — no new server-side errors in the last 24 hours
  • MAJR production — the migrated database ran clean overnight and the media pipeline is processing cleanly
  • Return Goblin reminders — the halt-on-fault safeguard is armed and quiet
  • agent services — the control layer and media pipeline are both live and running clean

finishing the production data cleanup, then deciding when to retire the old database the migration replaced.
